At QROMIA we’re focusing on the application of intumescent painting as a system of passive fire protection. This system is based on an intumescent and mono-component coating, normally water-based, which acts with heat action, developing an insulation coat that offers a slow thermal conductivity. There are some intumescent paintings on the market that can offer a fire resistance from R-15’ to R-120’, depending on the painting and the protected structure.

The finish is a fine white layer, suitable for interior spaces with not much humidity. An enamel layer is needed in case of exterior spaces or with so much humidity. This enamel layer can also be applied in case you want a determinate finish color on the structure.
